David Bott

David has 12 years’ experience in commercial and operations management. David graduated from Royal Miltitary College, Duntroon as a Commissioned Officer of the Australian Army, and then served for 2 years as a Gun Position Commander. David also completed bachelor degrees in law and commerce, and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia. Following two years as a commercial lawyer, David was a commercial manager of an Australian multi-national safety, training and security company. Based in Brazil, David was responsible for South American and East African commercial operations, reporting directly to the Board of Directors.
In 2004, David established Transact Management Limited and commenced providing commercial, corporate financial and management services to companies operating in the energy industry, including Shell, Todd Energy, OMV and the New Zealand Gas Industry Regulator. Transact has since grown into a thriving management and consulting firm. During the past three years, David has also played a significant part in the evolution of the New Zealand energy industry while working in his capacity as Commercial Operator of the Maui Pipeline, acting as agent of Shell and its joint venture partners.
In 2007, David established the Wellington Down Syndrome Social Club. David is a Trustee and the Secretary of this charitable organisation. Transact also sponsors the Cook Strait Whale Survey, carried out annually by New Zealand’s Department of Conservation. David contributes both his personal time and finances to this sustainability project.
