Wellington Down Syndrome Social Club
Transact initiated the development of a charity trust in honour of the mothers of people with Down syndrome. The purpose of the Wellington Down Syndrome Social Club (WDSSC) is to provide people with Down syndrome with a place to make and be with new friends independently from their parents and family so that they have a space of their own.
On 25 July 2008 the WDSSC had it club launch celebration in Wellington, which received substantial media attention:

"Good fortune, safe passage"
It is a poetic way to express Transacts sentiment that businesses can be concerned with both doing well (having good fortune) and well doing (protecting the planet and its ecosystems for future generations).
